Day 10: Monday A Visit to the Park

                                            Roosevelt National Park  Williston, ND

Today we went to visit Theodore Roosevelt's Park. He was a hunter and appreciated nature. He had a growing concern, while he was President of the USA, that people would not take care of the land, wild life and the preserve the soil.

 Roosevelt created National Parks and in his honor, Roosevelt's Park was formed.

We saw bison, turkey buzzards, birds and looked for prairie dogs. Although it was windy and rainy we got out of the truck and took pictures.

AND talking about babies. I have a new grandbaby born today. Her brother met her for the very first time in the hospital. His reaction is priceless!

He even brought three books to read to his sister and told me that she fell asleep. 

I told him it was like magic!

Day 9: Sunday: Williston, North Dakota (329 miles)

 Lots of oil wells in North Dakota

Another long day of driving. Still cold, wet and hoping to see some sun soon! We are  staying at the Buffalo Trails RV Campground. 

Tomorrow we are going to drove to the Roosevelt Park and hope to see some bison. Aussie is going along for the ride too!

 

               Day 8  Saturday:  Center of North America monument on the way to                                                                     Grand Forks, North Dakota

We drove 345 miles today and were going to park in Walmart's parking lot but they were doing construction. So we decided to stayed at the Grand Forks RV campground. Temperatures were in the 30's, wind chill in the mid 20's and rainy. Not the best weather but with electric hook up at least we could run the small fireplace and portable heater!

                                         Aussie enjoyed getting out of the car.
