July 8th Day #60 Tuesday- Fishing & July 9th #61 Wed.-moving to Palmer

Today was fishing day. We took a charter out at the end of Resurrection Bay just before the Gulf of Alaska.

It as a cold damp day, no sun to warm us up. We did meet some really nice people on the boat!

It was harder to catch salmon than halibut. Both of us had salmon nibble on the bait but would get away when we pulled the fishing rod up. Ed did catch a salmon fish and we both caught two rockfish, which I have never tasted. Everyone on the boat told us that it is a sweet fish. Guess we will see!

We paid to have the fish frozen, bought some fresh caught salmon to add to ours and now the whole bottom of my freezer has fish.

Wednesday, July 9th-

Packed up to go back to Palmer and the Mt View RV Park. Sites are wide open. Freddy Meyers and Mc Donald's are close by so we shopped and then ate.

Tomorrow going to visit the mine. Hopefully the snow will be gone and we will get to visit it!

July 6th Moving Day #59 and Monday July 7th Day #60

Can't believe we have been on the road for 59 days! We got settled in at a new RV park and yes, Aussie did get a bath. Now he looks like a puff ball.

Just got a bath and the poodle hair puffed up!

Monday off we went to visit the Alaska Sealife Center.

Sea Urchin

There were starfish, all different sizes and types.

There were sea lions and seals.

Harbor Seal
(This one has neurological problems- don't know how they can tell!)

Then there were thee birds. The puffins were the funniest. They loved swimming in the water. We saw them outside on our marine tour too.

They even have pads for birds that have arthritis!

Another great day seeing and learning about Alaska's wildlife!
