June 7th- Day 29 Saturday off to Denali Park again.
So getting up at 4:00 am is not so hard when it is so light!
Sunset 12:09 (but it is not dark, just hazy)
Sunrise 3:41
Cathy wanted to get an early start because some animals are scared by the noise of cars and buses.
This is the snowshoe hare. He was all white during the winter but is now transforming into his summer fur- all brown.
In the Fall the amount of sunlight will become less. This will trigger a change in their pituitary gland which makes the Snowshoe Hare's fur will turn all white again for the winter.
A moose has a space between its back two molas.
When he grabs a twig the moose pulls it through the molars and all the leaves end up in his mouth.
Black bears eat the same way.
Can you find the moose?
We saw a grizzly bear today! Very hard to see one.
This bear was about 200 yards away walking along a stream.
Mt. Denali was clear today!
Tomorrow? Another early day.
Taking a bus ride to the top of the mountains where cars are not allowed.
