We took a 2 mile hike around a river. We saw some Dall Sheep with very large horns.
Dall Sheep all over the hill.

Another chilly day in the 40's.
June 9th, Monday- Day 31
Visited the husky sled dogs.
They gave a demonstration of the sled huskies pulling a sled on wheels. The dogs were so excited. Then we got to walk around the area where they keep the dogs.
One of the handlers told us that people who work at the park volunteer to help with the dogs. They are assigned one dog to walk and take care of especially during the summer. During the winter months the dogs are very busy pulling sleds with supplies.
The dogs lay on top of their "house". They hang tarps over the whole area to protect the dogs from the sun. Right now they have 20 adult dogs and five puppies.
In the Fall they will start training puppies and when they are ready the puppy will be teamed up with an adult dog and practice pulling a sled.
We say good- by to Denali State Park and on to Talkeetna.
