Denali, Alaska

 June 6th- Day 28 Friday

We drove to Denali and it took about three hours. We are staying at a very nice gravel, pull through spot at the Denali RV Park which is less than 5 minutes away from Denali National Park. So after setting up, we drove through the "town" and headed for the park.

RV Park...

and the office with small gift shop.

Town of Denali about three blocks long.

We saw moose, caribou, and went to the Denali's Park visitors center.
This moose is not a mama yet!
The paddles on this male can weigh up to 70 pounds!
This moose walked right our in front of our car.

This caribou walked right in front of our car too!
Notice the scars on the side caused by branches in the woods.

The caribou especially like licking the salt off the gravel.

They say only 30% of the people can see Mt. Denali, the tallest mountain in North America. So wanted to see if we could see it, and we did! It was a little hard at first to tell the mountain from the clouds. Hopefully we will be able to see it al little clearer in the coming days.

If you look in the middle of the clouds you will see the Mt. Denali covered with snow.

Ten minutes later all you could see is clouds.

Early to bed tonight because we have an early morning.
Car leaves at 5:00 am! I wonder what animals we will see?
