July 4th in Seward was terrific and the Marathon Race was amazing!
The news reported that there were 40,000 people who came to town for July 4th this year. I can tell you that the RV Campgrounds and parks were packed.
Many people traveled with caravans, others rented RVs, then others came in on cruise ships and stayed.
First there was the race to the bottom of the mountain but then they had to climb straight up and of course run back to the finish line.
There were two Junior group of racers starting at 9:30 following by the women who had three groups starting at 11:00 and last were the men at 2:00. When they got back everyone was very, very dirty and many were bloody & scraped from the rock climb.
